Refurbishment and Stretch Repair Bracelet

The refurbishment and stretch removal of a steel bracelet requires special tools, so that it is possible to loosen the bracelet links and replace the worn bars.

Over the years, the bars of the bracelet links wear out. This can result in considerable stretch or even breakage of the bracelet.

I restore both Jubilee and Oyster bracelets and of course bracelets from other watch brands.

During the refurbishment and stretch removal, each bracelet link will be disassembled, the worn bars removed and exchanged to new bars. If you wish, polished and brushed surfaces can be refinished. If the stretch in your bracelet is more pronounced, a satisfactory result can only be achieved through a restoration.

I offer the following repair options for your Jubilee Bracelet:

1. Exchange of all bracelet bars (bracelet is again shatterproof)

2. Restoration of the bracelet, replacement of the bars, restoration of the inner surfaces of the side links and repair/replacement of the inner braclet parts ( bracelet regains full stiffness and full flexibility)

3. Aesthetic refurbishment of the bracelet

How does the stretch of a Jubilee bracelet come about?

The stretch of a Jubilee bracelet is largely caused by wear and tear on the built-in bars (below you will find some image examples of such worn bars). If the right time to replace these bars is missed, the bars threaten to break in the worst case. As the bracelet becomes looser, the inner and outer links also wear out. The loss of material in the inner surfaces of the links does not lead to an acceptable result in the elimination of stretch, despite the replacement of the bars. For this reason, we repair the loss of material when restoring the bracelet so that the play of the bracelet is eliminated as best as possible.

How does the stretch of an Oyster bracelet come about?

Unlike the Jubilee bracelet, the stretch in an Oyster bracelet is usually not caused by wear and tear on the built-in bars. The bars of an Oyster bracelet are set in special sleeves and are significantly more solid. As a rule, the links wear off over time, so that the resulting loss of material causes the bracelet to play. For this reason, only the targeted application of material leads to an acceptable result when stretch repairing an Oyster bracelet. (below you will find some image examples of an Oyster bracelet restoration)
